Get the Nose You Wanted the First Time
At the Storch Plastic Surgery Facility, we see many patients who come to us after being disappointed, or unhappy, with the results of a previously done rhinoplasty procedure, which was performed elsewhere. There are many reasons someone may not be happy with their original rhinoplasty results. Whether they feel the nose is still too large, or still misshapen, or crooked, or perhaps there may be persistent, or even increased nasal breathing problems, Dr. Sarraga’s skills, experience, and techniques, will often be able to dramatically improve, refine, or correct the problematic issues. Revision rhinoplasty, or secondary rhinoplasty, is a frequently performed procedure at our Aventura Facility. It often results in amongst our most satisfied, and appreciative, patients.
Revision rhinoplasty procedures can frequently be more challenging to perform than primary, or standard, rhinoplasty. The septum, the cartilage framework of the nose, and the bones may have been altered, or partially removed, by the previous surgery. There may be thickening, or scarring interfering with Dr. Sarraga’s ability to reshape the anatomy into the desired form. If the patient’s airway has been restricted, the revision rhinoplasty procedure may also be more difficult and challenging. These conditions may require a variety of specialized additional techniques, or procedures. These may include the use of cartilage or bone grafts. The graft material may be obtained from the patients nasal septum, the back of one or both of their ears, or from elsewhere on their body. During the initial consultation, Dr. Sarraga will carefully examine your nose, and then review your case with you. Together, you and Dr. Sarraga will be able to determine whether you are indeed a candidate for a revisionary rhinoplasty, or secondary rhinoplasty, and what specifically might be involved.
